The Harvey Foundation Review

Advancing Education. Expanding Opportunity. Strengthening Communities.

October 13, 2026

A New Chapter

The Harvey Foundation Is Officially Incorporated

We are pleased to announce that The Harvey Foundation for Justice & Opportunity was officially federally incorporated on September 18, 2026.

This milestone represents an important step in establishing a foundation dedicated to advancing education and expanding access to opportunities for individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by crime and the criminal justice system.

Our incorporation marks the beginning of a broader commitment to developing educational programs, scholarships, strategic partnerships, and community initiatives that address barriers to academic achievement and long-term economic opportunity.

The Harvey Foundation for Justice & Opportunity is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization. Federal incorporation does not confer CRA registered charity status.

Institutional Profile

About HFJO

The Harvey Foundation for Justice & Opportunity is a federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit organization committed to advancing education and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals and families whose lives have been materially affected by crime and the criminal justice system.

Through scholarships, educational grants, academic resources, and collaborative partnerships, the Foundation seeks to address barriers to education and support pathways toward academic achievement, professional development, and greater economic stability.

Our work recognizes that experiences of victimization, justice-system involvement, and the broader consequences experienced by families can significantly affect access to educational opportunities.

By placing education at the centre of our mission, HFJO seeks to contribute to a future where individuals are not permanently defined by their experiences with the justice system.

Building pathways to education and opportunity.

Founding Scholarship Campaign

Investing in Futures

We are pleased to announce the launch of The Harvey Foundation's Founding Scholarship Campaign, an initiative intended to establish the financial foundation for our inaugural educational scholarship and support programs.

The campaign will help us build the resources necessary to support eligible individuals pursuing post-secondary education, vocational training, and other recognized educational pathways.

Our goal is to reduce financial barriers to education while recognizing the potential, ambition, and achievements of individuals whose educational journeys have been affected by crime or criminal justice-system involvement.

We invite individuals, businesses, educational institutions, and community partners to contribute to this important founding initiative.

The Harvey Foundation for Justice & Opportunity is currently a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization. Official charitable donation tax receipts are not available unless and until HFJO receives CRA registered charity status.
